Remortgage

A remortgage is when you take out a new mortgage either with your existing lender or with a new lender.

Most people remortgage because they

• Want to save money by switching to a better 'deal' with an existing or new lender
• Want to borrow money against their property, perhaps for an extension or home improvements
• Are moving to a new property

Other reasons you may be looking to remortgage may include

• Wanting to move from an interest-only to a repayment mortgage
• Wanting to overpay your mortgage but your lender can't accommodate that
• Wanting more flexibility perhaps because you are making a lifestyle change

Remortgaging can save you money so it is important to review your mortgage regularly with your mortgage advisor.
